Lauren Christy has 18 years of experience working in the mental health realm. She graduated from Hampton University with a bachelor is psychology, with emphasis in early childhood and adolescent development. From there, she matriculated to the University of Pittsburgh, where she received her masters in direct practice social work. During her time in Pittsburgh, she helped to develop and launch Blue Print, a program that taught and mentored high risk and at risk youth in the greater Pittsburgh area. Feeling the need to serve more communities, Lauren then decided to return to her home state of South Carolina, to earn her second masters in Public Health, from USC. Lauren has always had a passion servicing adolescents, but has also found herself using her skills and dedication to adults. In her professional career, Lauren provides, support, and guidance to those in need, by creating a safe and welcoming environment for those she serves. Lauren improves the lives and breaks the stigma with identifying, understanding, and finding resolution with individuals groups and family members dealing with mental health issues. As the Clinical supervisor at Ascension St. Vincent, Lauren currently manages a 80 bed in-patient psych unit, at one of the largest mental health care providers in the state of Alabama. Feeling the need to help individuals to discover their true self, and tap into their full potential, Lauren became a certified Life Coach. Lauren truly feels with preparation and guidance, you are able to attain your goals and live your wildest dreams.
